At the National Brain Tumor Society, the health of the brain tumor community is our number one priority. Like you, we have been following the news related to the spread of the novel coronavirus known as COVID-19 as well as the ongoing recommendations and guidance of federal, state, and local public health authorities. While the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) current risk assessment indicates that “For most people, the immediate risk of being exposed to the virus that causes COVID-19 is thought to be low,” and that the virus “is not currently widespread in the United States,” we are acutely aware of the potential for harm to our community from disease transmission.
