Has anyone else had a benign tumor and chosen radiation over surgery? My concern is that they won’t be able to do any pathology, so how will they confirm it is benign?
I know different tumors look different in MRI. My mine is extradural and I’ve read that those are not common and tend to be metastasis from cancer elsewhere in the body.
I’ll ask my surgeon this question, too, but I figured I would wait until the next round of imaging so he can confirm that is the direction he feels we should go.
My surgeon is at a major cancer center, so I feel good about that. Has anyone use Johns Hopkins’ or Mayo’s second opinion program? I’m thinking that is how I would go about my second opinion.
