Favorable Efficacy With Mobocertinib Is Seen in Patients With NSCLC Harboring EGFR Exon 20 Insertion Mutations

Clinically meaningful benefits of mobocertinib (formerly TAK-788) as therapy for patients with metastatic non–small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and exon 20 insertion mutations in EGFR are coupled with an acceptable safety profile, according to results of a phase 1/2 (NCT02716116) trial that were presented during the 2020 World Conference on Lung Cancer Singapore.

In patients who were previously treated with platinum-based chemotherapy, the confirmed objective response rate (ORR) was 26% (95% CI, 19%-35%) per an independent review committee (IRC), and 35% (95% CI, 26%-45%) per investigator assessment. The median progression-free survival (PFS), via both IRC and investigator assessment, was 7.3 months.
